Welcome to the Centre Region COG Regional Refuse and Recycling homepage.

CRCOG's Regional Refuse and Recycling Program serves residents of Benner, College, Ferguson, Harris and Patton townships as their designated agent. CRCOG is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, contractor compliance and enforcement of the municipal solid waste & recycling ordinances. 

Our mission is to promote public health, safety, and welfare and to eliminate public health hazards, environmental pollution, and economic loss in the Centre Region through the collection, transportation, and disposal of residential municipal waste.

Refuse and Recycling News

New Refuse and Recycling Service Effective April 1, 2025

For details on the NEW Refuse and Recycling Service for residences with curbside collection in Benner, College, Ferguson, Harris and Patton Townships, click HERE.

This notice is not applicable for residences with dumpster service.

New Refuse Carts Are Coming!

The new refuse contract with Burgmeier's Hauling Inc. (BHI) will begin on April 1, 2025. 

They will be delivering the new refuse carts for automated collection starting February 17 with delivery expected to be completed by March 21. 

DO NOT USE YOUR NEW CART UNTIL APRIL 1.

Do you want a different size than the one delivered to you?

  • If you want a smalller size, that free switch period will be between June 1 and September 30. Please call or email during that switch period.
  • If you want a larger size or a second cart, call or email now.

COLLECTION SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR 2025

The ONLY days when there will be no collection in 2025 are:

May 26

Memorial Day

July 4 

Independence Day

September 1

Labor Day

November 27 

Thanksgiving Day

December 25 

Christmas Day

 January 1, 2026

New Year's Day

There will be a one-day delay for the rest of the week following each of those days, with Friday's collection taking place on Saturday.

Collection of both Refuse and Recycling will begin at 6 a.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
